What is the temperature of solution heat treatment and precipitation hardening treatment of Inconel 718 bar respectively?
Precipitation hardening treatment
Typical heat treatment should be as described below:
• Heat to 1325°F ± 15°F (720°C ± 8°C) and hold for 8 hours ± 30 minutes.
• Cool at 100°F ± 15°F (55°C ± 8°C) per hour down to 1150°F ± 15°F (620°C ± 8°C) and
hold for 8 hours ± 30 minutes, then air cool.
Hardness: 36 HRC
Room Temperature Tensile Requirement
The finished sheet or bar or products made from them shall meet the following minimum room temperature mechanical properties when tested according to QCI-9310-239 as shown in the table below:
Properties | Sheet Stock/Product | Bar Stock/Product (Longitudinal -direction)
|
Tensile Strength | 180 KSI (1241 MPa) | 185 KSI (1276 MPa) |
Yield Strength (0.2%) | 150 KSI (1034 MPa) | 150 KSI (1034 MPa) |
Elongation in 2 in. 50mm) - or 4D | 12% | 12% |
Solution treatment
For formability reasons, the raw material (strip, sheet, plate or bar) shall be supplied to subcontractor in the solution treated condition. Typical solution treatment is 1
hour at 1800°F (980°C).
