Spray Basket Made of Gold Palladium-Silver Alloy
The spray basket is one of the critical components in extrusion pelletization, primarily used to extrude molten sodium hydroxide (or other materials) through multiple apertures to form granules. Due to its unique chemical and physical properties, spray baskets made of gold-palladium-silver alloy are typically used in high-temperature and highly corrosive environments to enhance equipment stability and durability.
1. Number of Holes and Aperture Sizes in Gold-Palladium-Silver Alloy spray Baskets
Number of Holes and Apertures:
Generally, spray baskets feature a large number of holes to improve production efficiency by extruding more granules within a unit of time. The number of holes exceeds 2,001, depending on the equipment design and the required granule size. The aperture size typically ranges around 0.5 mm and can be fine-tuned based on specific needs.
2. Characteristics
Corrosion Resistance:
The gold-palladium-silver alloy boasts exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in highly alkaline environments. It effectively resists corrosion from substances like sodium hydroxide and sodium chloride, making it ideal for spray processes involving chlor-alkali and sodium hydroxide.
High-Temperature Resistance:
The alloy maintains excellent performance at temperatures as high as 400°C, making it suitable for the spray of molten sodium hydroxide.
Mechanical Strength:
With high strength and excellent wear resistance, this alloy prevents damage or deformation caused by friction or pressure during contact with molten materials.
3. Advantages
Long Lifespan:
Due to the superior corrosion and high-temperature resistance of the gold-palladium-silver alloy, the spray basket's lifespan is significantly longer than that of baskets made from ordinary stainless steel or carbon steel. It effectively minimizes damage caused by corrosion and oxidation in harsh environments.
High Production Efficiency:
The large number of holes and optimized aperture design enable the production of more pellets within a unit of time, improving efficiency and reducing the frequency of part replacement and maintenance.
Uniform Granules:
Thanks to precisely designed apertures and arrangements, the gold-palladium-silver alloy spray basket ensures uniform and consistent pellets sizes, meeting stringent customer requirements.
4. Manufacturing Process
High-Precision Machining:
Processing the gold-palladium-silver alloy requires high precision, especially when manufacturing the holes. Given the alloy's high hardness, CNC machines are typically employed to ensure the accuracy of aperture dimensions and shapes.
Surface Treatment:
To further enhance wear resistance and corrosion resistance, additional surface treatments may be applied to the basket, such as metal plating or coating, to improve durability.
Alternative Material: Inconel 600
Due to the high cost of gold-palladium-silver alloy spray baskets, we have developed spray baskets made from Inconel 600 to ease the economic burden on customers. However, the lifespan of Inconel 600 spray baskets is significantly shorter.
Product Overview:
Spray baskets made of gold-palladium-silver alloy exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and wear resistance. They are widely used in the extrusion pelletization process of sodium hydroxide under the corrosive and high-temperature conditions of chlor-alkali plants. The number and size of holes can be customized to meet different production requirements. With well-designed aperture shapes and arrangements, these spray baskets achieve efficient and uniform Pelletization production, extend equipment lifespan, and improve production efficiency.
