Weekly Price Changes in China's Titanium Market (August 5 - August 9)
According to industry data, China's titanium material prices in July showed a generally stable trend with slight declines, reflecting relatively weak market demand. Titanium, as a high-performance structural metal, is widely used in aerospace, chemical, and medical fields. However, due to the recent uncertainty in the international economic environment and adjustments in China's manufacturing sector, especially the stagnation in China's military industry, the demand for titanium materials has seen a certain degree of decline. Additionally, high temperatures and the summer season have also impacted the production and transportation of titanium, further suppressing market demand.
From a price perspective, the overall price of titanium materials in China remained stable in July, but some products experienced slight price decreases. Notably, prices for commonly used specifications such as titanium plates and pipes fell more significantly, while high-end titanium alloy materials maintained relatively stable prices. This is mainly because the demand for high-end titanium alloy materials in aerospace, medical, and other fields remains stable, while ordinary titanium materials are under dual pressure from market competition and declining demand. Despite the overall weak market demand, some companies have maintained good market performance through technological innovation and product upgrades.
This week, the supply of titanium materials in China remained relatively stable. Although some regions saw a decline in demand due to the overall economic environment, the overall demand for titanium materials entered a stable period. Specific market performances for various materials are as follows:
1.Titanium Ingots: Production decreased, with some companies reducing production and prices declining. Pure titanium ingot prices were around 55,000–58,000 RMB/ton, while TC4 titanium alloy ingots maintained a price range of 61,000–63,000 RMB/ton.
2.Titanium Scrap: Prices continued to decline, with abundant supply. Pure titanium scrap and TC4 alloy scrap were priced at approximately 28,000 RMB/ton and 22,000 RMB/ton, respectively.
Titanium Slabs: Companies reduced production, demand decreased, and prices fell. The market price for pure titanium slabs was between 62,000 and 63,000 RMB/ton, with ample spot market resources.
3.Hot-Rolled Titanium Plates (Coils): Demand remained stable, with unchanged prices. Pure titanium hot-rolled coils were priced at 82,000–85,000 RMB/ton, and pure titanium hot-rolled plates were priced at around 80,000 RMB/ton.
4.Titanium Bars and Wire Rods: Prices remained stable, with a decline in demand. Pure titanium bars were priced between 120,000 and 140,000 RMB/ton, and titanium alloy bars were priced between 180,000 and 220,000 RMB/ton. Pure titanium wires (φ2 to φ4 mm) were priced at about 140–160 RMB/kg.
5.Titanium Tubes: Market demand decreased, but prices remained stable, with quotes between 115,000 and 125,000 RMB/ton.
6.Titanium Alloys: Market demand declined, competition intensified, and prices saw slight declines.
