ASTM F136 for medical use
AMS 4928 for military use

Product Introduction

Introduction:

GR5 titanium wire is a kind of titanium alloy wire material, composed of elements such as titanium, aluminum and vanadium. It has the characteristics of high strength, low density, good corrosion resistance and high temperature stability, so it is widely used in aerospace, shipbuilding, medical equipment, chemical equipment manufacturing.

1. It is used to manufacture aircraft parts, such as screws, bolts, fasteners, etc. Titanium alloy has high strength and rigidity while being light in weight, so it can reduce the weight of the aircraft and improve the flight performance.

2. It is used to manufacture ship parts, such as hull structure, fittings on deck, etc, due to titanium has high corrosion resistance and high temperature stability, and can be used in harsh environments such as seawater.

3. It is used to manufacture medical devices, such as implants, artificial joints, etc, because it has good biocompatibility and can reduce the rejection of implants.

4. It is used to manufacture chemical equipment, such as reactors, heaters, heat exchangers, etc. Titanium alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability, and can withstand the erosion of corrosive media such as strong acid and strong alkali.

Advantages compared with Aluminum alloy.

1. It has higher thermal intensity, its service temperature is several hundred degrees higher than that of aluminum alloy. Grade 5 titanium wire can still maintain the required strength at medium temperature. It can work for a long time at a temperature of 450~500℃. For the Specific strength, the aluminum alloy decreases significantly at 150°C, but the gr5 titanium wire can reach 500℃, while that of aluminum alloy is below 200℃.
2. It has good corrosion resistance, which works in a moist atmosphere and seawater medium, its corrosion resistance is far better than stainless steel; it is particularly resistant to pitting corrosion, acid corrosion, and stress corrosion; it is resistant to alkali, chloride, chlorine organic substances, nitric acid, sulfuric acid It has excellent corrosion resistance. However, the gr5 titanium wire has poor corrosion resistance to media with reducing oxygen and chromium salts.
