Product Description
Porous titanium plates, also known as sintered titanium plates, porous titanium sheets, or foamed titanium, are manufactured from high-purity titanium powder through cold isostatic pressing and high-temperature vacuum sintering.
The resulting material forms a three-dimensional interconnected pore structure, providing excellent permeability, mechanical strength, and corrosion resistance.
Porous titanium plates have been widely used in industrial and residential hydrogen generators, where they serve as gas diffusion layers (GDL). Due to their excellent cost-performance ratio, they can effectively replace imported titanium sintered felt, significantly reducing the manufacturing cost of hydrogen generation equipment.
With the development of new technologies, porous titanium substrates are also used as electrode carriers by applying noble metal coatings such as platinum (Pt), ruthenium-iridium (Ru–Ir), or iridium-tantalum (Ir–Ta). These coated porous titanium electrodes are suitable for various electrochemical applications including electrolysis, ozone generation, and water treatment equipment.
Material Characteristics
Porous titanium plates feature a uniform, interconnected pore network that provides:
High permeability and low filtration resistance
Excellent corrosion resistance
High mechanical strength and structural stability
Resistance to high temperature and thermal shock
Stable pore distribution for reliable filtration performance
They can also be machined, welded, or assembled into large filtration units for industrial applications such as fine filtration of precious metal powders or chemical particles.
Chemical Resistance
Titanium sintered porous materials can be used in the following environments:
3% Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)
5% Sulfuric Acid (H₂SO₄)
Various concentrations of Nitric Acid (except fuming nitric acid)
Chloric acid environments
Seawater
Sodium hydroxide solutions
Carbonate and chloride salt aqueous solutions
