Titanium Cathode Drum

It is a type of anode used in electrochemical cells used to produce chlorine. The cathode drum is made from titanium, which is an ideal material for this application due to its corrosion resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio, and electrical conductivity. This anode is usually made in a cylindrical shape and features a central hole which the electrolytic solution is passed through. The Titanium Drum is typically composed of titanium mesh or titanium plates that are welded together in a spiral shape. The mesh or plates are then attached to a titanium frame. The cathode drum is then filled with a mixture of chlorine and other electrolytes and submerged in the electrolytic solution. When a current is applied, the electrolytic solution passes through the mesh or plates and reacts with the titanium, causing a chemical reaction that produces chlorine gas. The chlorine gas is collected and used in various industrial processes.

3. ADVANTAGE OF CATHODE DRUM

1) TITANIUM CYLINDER: Titanium cylinders are offered by our group (Research Institute) subsidiary company,

starting from sponge titanium, mixing, casting, forging, rolling, and spinning to a finished titanium cylinder, each of which is carried out and accepted

according to military standards, and the quality of each process is controllable and traceable.

2) PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY: A titanium cylinder is formed by strong spinning without welding, and its structure is compact and uniform.

3) TITANIUM-COPPER COMPOSITE STEEL CORE: Titanium-copper composite steel core and special conductive mode are adopted, which have good overall stability and uniform current distribution, and can meet the needs of high current production. The maximum load-carrying current intensity can reach 60KA.

4) STANDARDIZED PRODUCTION: Serialization and standardization of production have been realized. The maximum diameter of the seamless cathode roll is 2.7 meters. Other specifications can also be customized according to customer requirements.
