Production Technical Requirements
The chemical composition of titanium and Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) bars shall comply with ASTM B348 / ASME SB348. If re-testing is required, the allowable deviation shall follow the provisions of these standards.
After hot rolling, the bars are typically polished or machined. The allowable diameter tolerance of cold-drawn bars shall comply with relevant industry standards.
The out-of-roundness of polished bars after hot working shall not exceed half of the specified dimensional tolerance.
The standard supply length of processed bars is 300 – 6000 mm.
Fixed lengths must fall within this range.
Allowable deviation for fixed length: +20 mm.
For multiple-length bars, the cutting allowance is 5 mm per cut.
Fixed length or multiple-length requirements shall be specified in the purchase contract.
