Product Introduction
Gr2 Titanium Tube is one of the most commonly used grades of titanium in the chemical and industrial sectors, especially for applications requiring corrosion resistance and strength at elevated temperatures. The ASTM B861 standard specification outlines the requirements for Gr2 titanium tubes and other titanium alloys. It covers seamless and welded pipes, with a total of 34 grades available. Gr2 titanium is favored for its high ductility, malleability, and excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Production Process:
Billet Procurement: Titanium tube billets are purchased as the base material.
Rolling: The billets are rolled into tube shapes, either cold or hot-rolled, depending on specifications.
Oil Removal: The tubes undergo a cleaning process to remove any oils or residues.
Acid Washing: The tubes are subjected to acid washing to remove contaminants.
Annealing: The tubes are heat-treated for stress relief and to maintain material properties.
Straightening: Any deformations are straightened.
Surface Treatment & Inspection: Final surface treatments and inspections ensure the tubes meet the quality standards.
Finished Product Inspection: The tubes are thoroughly tested for performance and quality before being shipped.
Production Equipment:
Rolling Mills: 6 sets (plans to expand to 9 sets)
Annealing Furnace: 1 set for tubes up to 9 meters (future plans to introduce an online annealing system)
Acid Washing Pool: Standardized pickling equipment for thorough cleaning.
Straightening Machines: 3 sets for maintaining tube alignment.
Flat-End Chamfering Equipment: 2 sets for tube finishing.
Surface Treatment Equipment: 1 set for surface finishing.
Testing Equipment:
Ultrasonic Fault Detector: 1 set for detecting internal flaws.
Mechanical Property Test Equipment: 1 set to test for structural integrity.
Eddy Current Test Equipment: 1 set for detecting material properties.
Capacity: 30 tons per month
Titanium Tube Test Measures:
Bending Test:
According to ASTM B861, titanium tubes with a nominal diameter of 2 inches (51mm) or under should be capable of being bent cold through 90° around a cylindrical mandrel (twelve times the nominal diameter of the pipe) without cracking.Hydrostatic Test:
Size ≤ 3 in. (76mm): The hydrostatic test pressure should not exceed 2500 psi (17.2 MPa).
Size > 3 in. (76mm): The pressure should not exceed 2800 psi (19.3 MPa).
The pressure should be maintained for at least 5 seconds.
For tubes with a diameter of 14 in. (356mm) or smaller, hydrostatic tests at 1.5 times the working pressure are possible, provided the fiber stress does not exceed half the minimum yield strength.
Applications
Chemical Industry:
Used for heat exchangers, reactors, and piping systems where corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength are crucial.Marine Applications:
Gr2 titanium's resistance to saltwater corrosion makes it ideal for marine piping and underwater applications.Aerospace:
Used in critical structural components that need high strength-to-weight ratios and corrosion resistance at high temperatures.Medical Industry:
Gr2 titanium tubes are used in implants and medical devices due to their biocompatibility.Power Generation:
Commonly used in nuclear and fossil fuel power plants for their durability under high pressure and temperature conditions.
Advantages
Corrosion Resistance:
Gr2 titanium offers exceptional resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalies, and chlorides, making it ideal for use in harsh environments.Strength at Elevated Temperatures:
Titanium's high strength is maintained even at temperatures up to 600°C and beyond, making it suitable for elevated temperature applications.Ductility and Malleability:
Gr2 titanium is highly ductile and malleable, enabling it to be formed into various shapes and sizes (round, oval, square).Lightweight:
Titanium is significantly lighter than steel, making it ideal for applications where weight reduction is critical
