Product Introduction
The titanium vessel head is a part of the container, which is connected to the shell by welding. According to different geometric shapes, it can be divided into spherical head, elliptical head, dish-shaped head, spherical cap head, conical shell head and flat cover head, among which spherical head, elliptical head, dish head, and spherical cap heads are also collectively referred to as convex heads. In welding, it is divided into butt welding head and socket welding head. Used in various container equipment such as storage tanks, heat exchangers, towers, reactors, boilers and separation equipment, etc.

Types
Compare the characteristics of hemispherical, elliptical, dish-shaped, cone-shell and flat-cover heads in terms of force and manufacturing, and explain their main applications.
1. Hemispherical head: this is also called a 2:1 elliptical head. The shape of this head is more economical, because the height of the head is just a quarter of the diameter. Its radius varies between the major and minor axis.
2. Sphere head: a sphere is the ideal shape for a head, because the pressure in the vessel is divided equally across the surface of the head. The radius (R) of the head equals the radius of the cylindrical part of the vessel.
3. Torispherical head: these heads have a dish with a fixed radius (CR), the size of which depends on the type of torispherical head. The transition between the cylinder and the dish is called the knuckle. The knuckle has a toroidal shape.
4. Klopper head:this is a torispherical head. The dish has a radius that equals the diameter of the cylinder it is attached to. The knuckle has a radius that equals a tenth of the diameter of the cylinder.
5. Korbbogen head: this is a torispherical head also named Semi ellipsoidal head (DIN 28013). The radius of the dish is 80% of the diameter of the cylinder (CR = 0.8 x D0.). The radius of the knuckle is (KR = 0.154 x D0).

Precautions for heads welding process
1. The groove surface of the welded joint of it must be machined
2. Welding materials of it must be dehydrogenated and strictly cleaned
3. Operators who are responsible for welding joints must wear clean gloves, and must not touch the groove and its vicinity on both sides. It is strictly forbidden to use iron to hit the surface of the titanium material.
4. After the welding group of titanium vessel head is cleaned, it should be welded immediately
5. The purity of hydrogen and nitrogen of titanium vessel head material used for welding should not be lower than 99.99%, and the dew point should not be higher than minus 50 degrees Celsius
6. Before the welding of it, strict mechanical cleaning and degreasing treatment should be carried out on the groove and within 25mm on both sides. Measures should be taken to prevent contamination of the groove during welding
7. Effective measures should be taken to avoid mutual fusion of steel and titanium during welding. When the drawing requires, the iron pollution test should be done
8. During the welding process, after each welding, the surface color of the welding layer must be checked. The surface color of the welding seam and the heat-affected zone should be silver white or golden yellow. If the surface color is unqualified, it should be completely removed, and then Resolder. For surface color inspection, refer to the relevant specifications
9. Inert gas double-sided arc welding or plasma welding must be used
10. The surface of the welded seam after welding shall not have defects such as undercut, pores, craters and cracks
