Titanium Exhaust pipe

Titanium Exhaust pipe

Gr1 titanium exhaust pipe is widely used for vehicle/ motorcycle exhuast pipe manufacturing, it is light weight, high strength and excellent corrosion resistant.seamless and welded gr1 titanium exhaust pipe both can be provided

Product Introduction

Titanium Exhaust pipe is a new type of structural and functional material, it has excellent comprehensive performance, low density and high specific strength. The specific strength of titanium alloy is higher than that of aluminum alloy and steel, and the toughness is also equivalent to that of steel. Titanium alloy has good corrosion resistance, and the working temperature of heat-resistant titanium alloy can reach about 800 degrees. Titanium is also very light, and it is used on automobile exhaust pipes to reduce the weight of the vehicle to achieve the purpose of faster speed. Another advantage is that the ultra-thin titanium exhaust pipe plays a clear and crisp exhaust sound. The purple and blue gloss changes during driving are also full of power. It emits a beautiful purple and blue light titanium alloy tail nozzle, which can make the car The tail adds a sense of Racing.

Application

Most titanium exhaust systems in practical use today are manufactured using commercially pure titanium or Grade 2 (Gr2) titanium pipes. These materials offer an excellent balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and weight reduction, making them highly suitable for automotive and motorcycle applications.

Vehicle and motorcycle engine exhaust gases often reach temperatures exceeding 700 °C. However, the actual temperature of the exhaust components depends heavily on their exposure to ambient air and position within the exhaust system:

  • Motorcycle exhaust systems, which are typically exposed and have larger surface areas in contact with outside air, dissipate heat more efficiently. As a result, the exhaust pipe temperature remains within a safe operating range, and standard titanium (Gr1 or Gr2) performs reliably.

  • In contrast, vehicle exhaust systems and internal sections of motorcycle exhausts-especially at junctions or collectors where multiple exhaust flows converge-can experience significantly higher temperatures due to limited airflow and poor heat dissipation.

In such high-heat regions, Grade 9 titanium (Ti-3Al-2.5V) is preferred. This titanium alloy offers superior heat resistance and mechanical strength compared to commercially pure titanium. It is well-suited for use in environments where prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures and mechanical stress are expected.
