Product Introduction
The Iridium–Tantalum (Ir/Ta) coated titanium anode is a high-performance electrode designed for electrochemical applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and long-term stability.
It is manufactured using a titanium substrate (Gr1/Gr2) coated with iridium oxide (IrO₂) and tantalum oxide (Ta₂O₅) through advanced thermal decomposition or coating technologies. This coating system provides superior electrocatalytic performance and durability under harsh electroplating conditions.
Application
Ir/Ta titanium anodes are widely used in the electrodeposition of copper foil, a critical material for:
Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)
Lithium battery current collectors
Electronic components and integrated circuits
Working Principle
During electroplating:
The anode is immersed in an electrolyte containing copper ions
Direct current is applied
Copper ions are reduced and deposited onto the cathode (rotating drum or plate)
A uniform copper foil layer is formed
The titanium anode serves as a stable, insoluble electrode that supports high current density and continuous operation without contamination.
Key Features
Excellent corrosion resistance in acidic electrolytes
Low oxygen evolution potential → reduced energy consumption
High current efficiency and uniform current distribution
Nano-scale coating structure for enhanced catalytic activity
Long service life with recoating capability
Dimensionally stable anode (DSA) performance
Reduced maintenance and environmental impact
