Product Introduction
6al 4v titanium sheet is a highly sought-after alloy in the titanium industry, boasting exceptional strength, low modulus of elasticity, high corrosion resistance, good weldability, and heat treatability. The addition of aluminum and vanadium enhances the material's physical and mechanical properties, increasing its hardness.
The 6al-4v titanium sheet (Grade 5) finds widespread use across various industries, including aerospace, medical, tools, and machines. This grade of titanium is the most popular, thanks to its impressive corrosion resistance, lightweight, and favorable strength-to-weight ratio. You can find domestic stock of Titanium 6AL-4V sheet/plate in both full size and custom cut sizes.
AMS 4911 Titanium Sheet is a common material used in military and aerospace applications due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and ability to withstand high temperatures. Ti-6Al-4V titanium is also known as grade 5, which refers to its composition of 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, and the remainder is titanium.
6al 4v titanium sheet is typically available in a range of sizes and thicknesses to meet various application requirements. It can be cut, formed, and welded to create complex shapes and structures. They are used in a wide range of aerospace, military, and defense applications, including aircraft frames, missile and rocket components, armor plating, and naval ship components.

The titanium Sheets must 100% meet AMS 4911 specs. and ASTM E290 105 Degree Bend test
Bending Product under 0.1875 inch (4.762 mm) in nominal thickness shall have a test sample prepared nominally 0.750 inch (19.06 mm) in width, with its axis of bending parallel to the direction of rolling. The sample shall be bend tested in conformance with the guided bend test defined in ASTM E 290 through an angle of 105 degrees. The test fixture supports shall have a contact radius of 0.010 inches (0.25 mm) minimum, and the plunger shall have a radius equal to the bend factor shown in Table 3 times the nominal thickness. Examination of the bent sample shall show no evidence of cracking when examined at 15 to 25X magnification.
Application
6al-4v titanium sheet is classified as an alpha-beta alloy, which was originally developed for the aerospace market and is widely used in all components of aerospace structures. Among them, AMS 4911 Ti-6Al-4V titanium plate is widely used in military aircraft or turbines. Lightweight grade 5 titanium is also well suited for applications such as compressor blades, disks and rings for jet engines; airframe components; pressure vessels; rocket engine cases; helicopter rotor hubs and critical forgings where high strength-to-weight ratios are required. Gr5 titanium is used in the aviation field, and its advantages mainly focus on the following points;
High strength-to-weight ratio: 6al 4v titanium sheet is a lightweight material with a high strength-to-weight ratio, which makes it ideal for use in aerospace structures where weight reduction is critical. It helps reduce the weight of the aircraft, resulting in improved fuel efficiency, increased range, and better performance.
Corrosion resistance: highly resistant to corrosion, making Gr5 titanium sheet an ideal choice for aerospace components that are exposed to harsh environments, such as saltwater, humidity, and high temperatures. This property helps to increase the lifespan of the aircraft components, which reduces the overall maintenance cost.
High-temperature resistance: Ti-6Al-4V titanium can withstand high temperatures, which makes it suitable for use in the hot sections of jet engines, where temperatures can exceed 1000°C. It can also maintain its strength and stiffness at elevated temperatures, which is important for maintaining the structural integrity of the aircraft components.
Fatigue resistance: Gr5 has excellent fatigue resistance, which means it can withstand cyclic loading without cracking or breaking. This property is particularly important in the aerospace industry, where components are subjected to repeated cycles of stress and strain.
Machinability: AMS 4911 Ti-6Al-4V titanium sheet is relatively easy to machine, which makes it cost-effective for manufacturing aerospace components
