Product Introduction
MMO Disc anode are composed of a titanium disc as substrate,which meets ASTM B 265 Grade 1 or 2 standards, and coated with the mixed Metal Oxide & Platinum. MMO coating consists of IrO2/Ta2O5 mixed metal oxide anodes. Direct current transfer is accomplished through the mixed metal oxide catalyst, which is highly conductive, and fully oxidized so that the higher current outputs are possible. It was developed specifically for the rigors of cathodically protecting dam and navigation lock gates. Our disk anodes are designed to operate in fresh, brackish and seawater environments, and other suitable applications include: marine structures, water tanks, and vessels.
Because the titanium disc is naturally passivated by an oxidizing film and the coating has an extremely low consumption rate , the anode remains dimensionally stable over time.With an optional primary seal spacer gasket, it can be used on the inside of pipes, tanks, or other curved surfaces and is suitable for use in all cathodic protection applications. The leading anti-corrosion & uniform current distribution characters, outstanding physical and mechanical properties of titanium, niobium, its Platinized anodes and MMO coated anodes are strongly recommended for Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) application.
